What would you do if the only baby name you really loved had the same ending sound as your other child's name? Would you use it anyway because you aren't intentionally naming them to match? Or would you definitely find a different name that didn't have the same ending?

I'd use it. My two favorite boy names are Gavin and Colin and I'd definitely use them in a sibset if I wanted to.

I also think similar endings are cute. Like Gabriella and Natalia sound really good together to me. Both fancy girl names ending in -A. I think similar styles are more important than if they end the same or differently, ywim? Like Evelyn and Brooklyn would sound really funny to me because Evelyn is more old fashioned and Brooklyn is more new/trendy but Chloe and Felicity are cute together.

It depends on how similar the names are. These are just some examples from the top of my head:

Brinlee and Haley - I would use. The second one is enough of a name in its own right and is spelled differently... I think most people would see them as very separate names.

Brinlee and Brooklee - I would not use because it sounds and looks like the parents just tried to name the second kid a variation of the first kid's name.

HTH! I'm also curious what name you're considering.

completely depends on how similar they are. Both my girls names end in "a"

When you holler the names do they sound the same?

It would depend on how close the 2 names were but for the most part, as long as it's not something like Brinlee and Mackinlee, I'd probably use it.

We're not considering ANY names at this point..... we don't have a single name on our list! This was just a general question that I thought I'd ask. Not in reference to a "situation" I'm in.

i agree it depends on how close the names are; for example Alaina and Georgia, both end in 'a' but sound totally different!

I also agree that it would depend on how close the names are in general. Brinlee and Haley are fine together, but Brinlee and Finley aren't (I don't like Finley on a girl anyway, this is just an example).

I wouldn't because I believe each child should have an individual name and not seem that they are just part of a group, I am going to give the twins names that sound nothing alike even if it kills me lol.
