Do you think Meredith works better as a first name, or a middle name?

As it's traditionally a surname I prefer it in the middle - it feels heavy as a first. I've heard it's still used on boys in Wales, and though I've never met a male Meredith that does bother me. Anyway, I can't stand Grey's Anatomy anymore so there's that annoying association too.

It's actually a real first name, not just a surname- but it is a male name. I think it's better in the middle for either gender, because I hate male names on girls, but a boy might get teased if his first name was Meredith.

I think it's too trendy and works better as a middle name.

Although it may be traditionally a male name, i cant see school children being aware of that fact and so i dont think a child called Meredith would be teased for that specific reason, as someone suggested.

Ive always loved this name and my previous use of it was Evelyn Meredith. I would love to use it as a FN but there arent really any nice NN. It fits beautifully as a MN also. Plus i love Greys Anatomy haha.

I loved this name until Grey's Anatomy, and now I just can't get past that. So, I say middle name simply because of the show. Meredith is a great name though!

I like the name. But i don't think it goes well with your other daughters name. So i would go with middle name on this one!
