What does everyone think to the name Banjo for a boy? I'd go with Banjo Alexander I think.

Thanks!

I think it's rather silly. Would you name your son Guitar? It's just a random musical instrument, pretty redneck sounding, and not a very good name, sorry.

I just can't seem to think of the word banjo as a name. I also think there's a high probability of little Banjo being picked on in school and/or hating his name throughout life.

It's an instrument, and I wouldn't be able to think of it as a name if my mom hadn't had a dog called Banjo when she was a kid. That doesn't mean that it's a good name for a human being, though. A dog isn't going to be teased and bullied for having a goofy name.

And I agree with that.

Haha sorry but this made me laugh hysterically. Not only is Banjo a guitar its also a common name for the frenulum - the fine length of skin on the underside of the penis linking the head of the penis to the foreskin and main shaft, sensitive but also vulnerable during particularly rough sex, its known as the "banjo string".

SO......with that said, its NMSAA

Yeah I didn't think anyone would like it, oh well I love it and if one of the twins is a boy, that'll be his name.

I don't think anyone would think ''redneck'' here since i'm in England.

Ok the instrument thing I can get past but not the penis thing...sorry. Not to mention because I'm in Australia I also associate it with Banjo Patterson who wrote Waltzing Matilda. But If you like it then go for it

Wow. Definitely not. It's definitely not cute. Or whatever you think is good about it. No. Just no.

What about Benjamin? You could call him Benji.

Benjamin may be common, but at least someone named Benjamin won't spend an entire life being ridiculed and humiliated because of their name.

and how would you know that is what will happen? Maybe Banjo would love his name and be very thankful that I didn't name him Benjamin, you just never know.

I'm willing to bet anything that no child would thank a parent for being named Banjo sorry. A child's name isn't an outlet for a parent to express how unique, creative and different they are, it's something that they will carry with them for their entire life and will define the core of their idenity. I'm sorry if I come across as being rude, but I do genuinely think that naming a child Banjo would cause them humiliation as a child and an adult, and would probably limit their employment chances as an adult.

Are there any other names other than Banjo that you like? There are plenty of rare/unusual names that I think are much much better than Banjo.

Also I would suggest that if you really like Banjo to name him something similar to Banjo and use Banjo as a nickname, that way if he likes it he can use but if he doesn’t he can use his full name.
