This is becoming quite popular where I live (New Zealand) but I don't think it's gaining much traction in the US ... anyway, WDYT of it on a girl?

As someone who lives in the U.S., I think of it as a state, not a name.

It definitely reminds me of the state. But, state names do get used: Missouri, Montana...

First off, it is where I live. Second, unless your last name is Jones... I don't think it should be used on a person. I do have a friend who named her dog Indy, which is really cute because she's from Indiana but now lives in Colorado.

That would be us, the second. DH is an Indiana Jones fan. And we joke about naming our children all the famous Jones' such as Inidiana, Norah, Tommy Lee, etc I like it since it'd be Indiana Jones, I like the nn Indy. But I don't think we'd use it.

I doubt you could use it if you'd been to Indiana. It's so boring and pointless, kind of like Ohio.

I don't care for it, but it's cute. I usually like place names though.

I couldnt use it as I live in America and lived IN indiana. I couldnt see it on a child, much like you probably couldnt see some city names from New Zealand on a child.
