How do you find name inspiration when you feel like youve looked at every name possible over and over again until your brain starts leaking out your ears?
DH and I simply cant find anything we both love as a BOY name. He is basically zero help and has only offered 2 suggestions
Alexander or Cruz
I do not like Alexander and Cruz is just random and sounds very out of place in our family. It also reminds me of Tom Cruise, whom I have a great loathing for
Beyond that he only poo poos names or runs and hides when I start asking. After spending the other night in L&D triage this whole zero names on the name list thing has me panicking. I dont need to have the name decided before baby comes but i certainly need a list of mutually agreed upon names.
I love thinking about and talking about names but lately it's felt so hopeless that I dont want to think about it. Well, now I know i NEED to so how can I get inspired and how can I cajole my husband into helping me out with this?
Do you have a meaning that you particularly like? You can look up names by meaning. Also is there a special person from your past (a best friend from kindergarten or someone that would have a happy meaning for you). I also would pay special attention to names in movies or books. Like a "hero" character or a particularly strong willed character that you liked.
I'd say you should go to a bookstore with a pad of paper and a pen and look through some modern baby name books. Write down any name you'd think about considering and then give your husband your list. He should be able to find a few names out of the bunch that he might be able to consider. Then go from there.
I agree with Melissa. Spend a couple of hours looking through a bunch of baby name books or websites, write and list and give the list to your husband. Tell him he has to pick atleast 5 or 10 that he loves/likes/can deal with and then for him to give you the list back.

I get inspiration from book, movie and tv characters who I really liked (particularly characters I looked up to as a child) I also look up meanings that I like or I may choose a family member and look up what there first and middle names mean and see what other names I can find with the same meaning...I think the list idea is a great suggestion. Good luck on finding a name both of you love
