I always thought of it as a boys name, but I know it's becoming more popular for girls now. I personally wouldn't use it because it's too unisex.

Boy. It's NMS, but I think it's okay as a name for a boy. The first time I met a girl Emerson, I thought it was really weird (I didn't know it was trendy then).

Boy. Would he have a nn?
I could see Emma or Emmie as a nn for a girl.

Ive always thought of it as a girls name, not sure why. Ive never met anyone with the name so i dont think that influences it, i think its because I think of it as an alternative to Emma which is a very popular girls name. So yeah, its a girls name for me.

I know it is becoming popular for a girls name. Reminds me of Emerson Drive. And I know an elderly guy named Emerson.

I don't care for it that much... it's really unisex and that's something I try to avoid. I think I prefer it slightly on a girl, it just seems kind of feminine to me.

Boy only. But I don't like it, regardless of gender.

I LOVE the name Emersyn! (spelled like that) I like it for a girl only (which is why the "y" spelling). I think I will try to convince DH to like it too, lol. I like Emersyn kate
