My mom is a nurse and she mentioned something the other night to me about how i have been feeling and i want to see if anyone else has had these symptoms....
Might be a little TMI but here goes.......
for several months i have gone thru a phase where almost anything i eat, especially if it is something greasy, i get diarrhea almost within 1/2 hour of eating. Its bad. I have gained some weight over the past year as well (last 17 weeks i have been kinda outta comission healing a broken ankle which required surgery & i have to have another surgery next week) I'm just tired of pooping every time i eat. I feel like i live on immodium. I want to have my Dr check it out, but i'm afraid i'll have to have it removed, and i surely dont want to have another surgery.
Help?? Anyone been there, done that????:c onfused:
Well, I dunno... I know if youve HAD your GB out you can have issues like that after eating greasy foods, but not while its still in. I had my GB out after my pregnancy after suffering for years with attacks, and I never had issues with diarrhea. My attacks were excruciating pain, worse than any labor pains I ever had (and I delivered naturally) that would make me nauseated and vomit, and I would also get heartburn, dizzy, and severe exhaustion.
Have you had gastric bypass surgery? Odd question I know, but if so- there is your answer...
I work at a gastroenterology office and these do not sound like gb symptoms to me. You could have IBS. Sounds like you need to add some fiber twice a day to your diet. Any fiber supplement will do...benefiber is what I recommend but some others are unifiber, metamucil, etc. Most patients I see with gb symptoms have right upper quadrant pain, epigastric pain, nausea, and/or vomiting.

Sounds like IBS, before I had my gallbladder out i had very bad pain in my right shoulder and around my gallbladder when i ate greasy foods. but i never had diarrhea until AFTER i had it out. i have bad IBS from having my gallbladder out. but it would hurt to get it checked out
I agree with several of the other ladies that it sounds more like IBS or something to do with your bowels not your Gallbladder. I had mine taken out May 07 and my SXS we're severe pain, nausea, vomiting mainly I never had any diarrhea or anything along those lines at all before. As for after I have had to be careful what I eat more now than before! so for sure does not sound like gallbladder. It would hurt to get it checked out though it could be something a lot worse than you think or it could be nothing!
