First of all, Hi everyone! I frequent a couple other boards but this is my first time posting here. I have a really unusual questions and I'm hoping someone can offer some advice.
I have been on birth control for over a year. This past month I was put on a new birth control and 5 days into the birth control I started my period (they say spotting, but this was much heavier than spotting) again. That lasted for eight days. Two days I stopped bleeding with the occasional dark brown spot in tissue paper after I use the rest room. Well, today I've had nothing all day until this evening. *TMI, SORRY* I manually took care of some sexual build up (just outside stimulation, no internal dildo or finger action) and the lubrication fluid was bloody again. It's like I'm spotting all over again and it's not dark brown but pinkish/reddish again. It's not a lot, as in I don't need a pad, but it's not old blood in the tissue paper like it was. Is this ever going to end? Why would sexual activity start it over again? Anyone have experience with it?
Sorry, I know it's an odd question, it's just really frustrating.
If it helps, I just saw the gyno when I had my visit and had her do a complete STD panel and I'm guessing that and my pap smear were normal because it's been three weeks and no phone call. At the time she said my cervix and everything looked normal. I've always in the past had normal periods and no inbetween bleeding. THANKS!
I would call your OB and let them know. It is likely your body adjusting to the new BC, and will regulate itself in some time- but it could signal something else. And yes, sexual activity can cause bleeding to show again. Most likely there was still some left, it was just in your uterus or higher up in your vagina and the excess lubrication and muscle contractions from orgasm were enough to bring that blood down. HTH!
