How is everyone doing? I'm doing pretty well. Things are little crazy for us, but otherwise everything is going well.
Anything new to report? My health is well, I recently had a doctor's appt and I took Robyn with me so she could see what Mama does when she goes to see a doctor. It was really great, so thanks to those who reccomended me taking her with me! She likes to watch me give myself my shots now...it's kind of funny. When my phone alarm rings she says "Mama, test!", she's so adorable. She's told her little sister "Don't worry, Mama gots a good doctor lady who is real nice". And now she says she wants to be a doctor. Cool.
How is the family doing? The family is well, busy though. Oh, and my darling Robyn I just bragged about...wants to do a beauty pagent. Ugh. See me and DW have been fighting about this for awhile. I had a whole coming out party (and it had nothing with whom I wanted to have sex with, go figure), and would like my girls to do it too. Kind of a family tradition type thing. Not for any big deal or anything like that. While DW said that if I ok'd that, then the girls should get to do beauty pagents if they want. I said no. Ok, so I have a younger cousin who has been doing these "Cinderella" pagents, and after the girls talked about them (and Robyn saw her pretty dress) Robyn decided she wanted to do it. And she's been talking about it non stop. Well the cousin's mom (my cousin as well) told me that they aren't like other pagents. No swim suits, no make up, no big hair, just kids being their cute selves. So we looked at it online and I pulled up the handbook. They actually won't allow false eyelashes or hair, the only exception is for the talent portion (which they don't start until they are 7) or for medical need (if a child has had chemo). And no make up is allowed except for talent porition and even then it's too be part of the costume. Everything has to be modest and natural for the children. I looked at the pictures, and they look like normal run of the mill kids! They even encourage that you just use nice church clothes for formal wear, not fancy $1,000 dresses. And all the kids look thats like what their wearing. And they do win scholorships...we do have three future college students on our hands.
So after all that (dang that was long!) we are going to let her do it. They start at 3, so she's going to be one of the real young ones. I'd like to get Regan into it when she's 3 as well, I think it'd help her being more independent and outgoing. But if she's not intreasted, she's not intreasted. We won't push them to do anything they don't want to (aside from school).
