Hello everyone! I have a question for the mommies that have had a hyster but don't use HRT. I had a TAH and BSO three years ago, when I was 25. I was dealing with crippling abdominal pain since the birth of my second in 2005, and I've had surgeries and millions of tests to try to correct it. I made the mistake of trying out one of those doctors that say on the first visit "We'll just do a hysterectomy". Instead of getting a second opinion, I agreed to it. Well, it's been three years and the testing goes on, but the pain never stopped.

The problem I'm dealing with now is that I'm crawling out of my skin due to the lack of hormones. I've been on several different cocktails of Premarin/Estrodial/Wellbutrin, but I might as well just burn my money. For the first two years I only experienced severe hot flashes, but it's taken a turn in the past 10 months.

My major complaints are the irregular sleep, confusion, irritability, and most of all, the constant feelings of anxiety, restlessness and sometimes downright hopelessness. While all this is going on in my head, I have a very good life. My husband is incredibly hard-working and hands-on, my kids are brilliant and beautiful and the future is so bright I gotta wear shades.

SO (to conclude this too-long post), does anyone have any special tricks & tips to deal with surgical menopause when the synthetic hormones simply don't work?
