This forum seems kind of dead. Just wondering if anyone is out there?

I lurk sometimes. I have ME/CFS, FMS, endo and migraines but I don't tend to post because I don't consider myself disabled and I'm never sure if I belong here.

What's FMS? I think you surely belong here. I'm HOH with DDD (Degenerative Disk Disease) Nerve Damage, Fibromyalgia and anxiety. I also get migraines

FMS is Fibromyalgia Syndrome - I was being lazy and not typing it out Migraines are the worst, I've only has them for the last year but they have been very severe during this pregnancy as hormones are my main trigger. Oh, and snow as well! What are your triggers? Have you visited Patty's headaches and migraines group?

I thought that might be it but didn't want to say so and be wrong

My migraines come about from weird things. Mostly sinus. But after the 4th on Monday I had the most heckish migraine I thought my veins were going to explode in my brain. It was scary. So I figure probably the smoke and such triggered me too. My headache yesterday and today is all pressure which makes me think it's sinus related (we have a storm moving in tomorrow)

Fibromyalgia definitely qualifies you here so do migraines imho. Migraines are very debilitating. I spent ALL Monday in bed nonstop. I haven't joined the headache group I'll go look for it now

I'm glad you joined the group

Migraines are just awful. I've had several each week for the last month or so which is why I took a break from JM. Some days they've been so bad I just couldn't lift my head off the pillow all day. Do you get auras with yours?

Smoke is definitely a common trigger. Travel can be too, I went on a school trip a few weeks ago and the migraine I had after that lasted for about 2 days.

I think part of the reason I don't post here very often is because I generally feel guilty about talking about my health too much. I think that could be one of the reasons why this board is quiet. People start rolling their eyes after a while when you have to change your plans for being unwell so you get into the habit of not really talking about it.

I really hope maybe if I start actively posting other people will too. Especially since it's a board with disabilities. i'd love everyone to check in and tell us how they are feeling lately

I don't usually get auras with my painful migraines. But I get migraines that are JUST auras sometimes and THAT is kind of freaky. I never got many at all until this year and now I'm having a bunch

(((((hugs))))) I (literally) feel your pain. I had my first migraine a year ago and I was terrified because I'd never had one before. It lasted 3 days and since then they've been triggered by every time I Oed, had AF or fell pregnant. I've been getting a lot of visual problems when I've had them the last few weeks which has been quite scary.

Maybe we can get the board active between us? I'll post if you'll post!

That could definitely be what has set this migraine off for you, I always get a migraine about 2 days before I O. Stupid hormones - who'd be a woman?!

What do you usually take for your migraines?

LOl AMEN sister!!

I only take tylenol. My Neuro said that my insurance wouldn't cover the meds because it's a pre-existing condition via insurance and i can't afford $80 a refill

That totally sucks I usually take Migralieve, which has codeine, paracetamol and something for the nausea. I've been prescribed something fairly similar to take while pregnant but I can only take it until the end of the 2nd trimester as there are risks taking it in the 3rd trimester.

How long have you lived with fibro?

I was diagnosed with the fibro in 2006 after I had my 2nd daughter. I started experiencing agonizing pain and couldn't even put on clothes some days. THat was scary too

(((((hugs))))) The pain can be terrifying. I had a secondary diagnosis of FMS a long time after being diagnosed with ME/CFS when I started experiencing more pain. What kind of management are you under for it at the moment?
