I used to wait it out. 2009 I thought I just had a bad chest cold, went on vacation 8 hours from home without DH and ended up in the hospital with double pneumonia. I'm no longer a waiter!

I look it up if it's something I'm not familiar with it, have tons of books on herbs/essential oils/home remedies.

I keep grapefruit seed extract on hand, it works very well when taken at the very first sign of illness - and you want to keep taking it as long as you have symptoms. It will shorten the duration and lessen the symptoms. BUT you want to be careful if you take any prescription meds, especially any heart medication bc it can interfere with that.

I wait it out but use home remedies in the meantime Like if I feel a cold or flu coming on, I'll start adding lemon juice to my teas and water. And I'll use my eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils and rub that into my chest/neck

I have to say, I'm ultra cautious, the second i think something is up I phone for advice and am not afraid to get medical attention if I need. I do do things like drink hot water honey and lemon to treat colds and take garlic capsuals too to help boost my immune system
