I have been lurking for sometime now and have never posted, but now I need too.
Background 33, Husband 32, we have one son 5 years old.
We have been trying for 2 + years for another.
Recently went to the Dr and he ordered multiply tests for various things.
Here's where I am scared...he is checking me for Chlamydia, Hep B/C and HIV....wasn't i already screened for these 5 years ago with my first baby??? I don't remember seeing these items circled on my last requisition to the lab 5 years ago!!I AM Freaking out..I have been with my husband faithfully for 10 years, as he has been to me.
Trying to wrap my head around all of this, could it be possible to have something??
My doctor/hospital would have checked right?
It's illegal for them to check for HIV without your approval. So unless you signed for that test, then no it was not performed. Really any test they did you should have known about, but for sure you have to sign for the HIV test and someone is supposed to explain your rights to you on that test. Even if you were screened for them 5 years ago and they were negative...that was 5 years ago. A lot can happen in five years. I'm not saying your husband wasn't faithful (obviously I don't know him), but it's possible for people to lie and so your doctor is probably just starting at square one.
Yes, it's possible you have something...ANYTHING is possible. Probable is another story. But they always have to start somewhere. If the tests come back negative then they'll move onto something else. But everything has to follow a track and that's, more than likely, all they're doing.
