Well today is a significant day- my son turns 7 months old aaaaand I just got my first period since before I conceived him... (yay...)
I'm definitely bummed especially since I wasn't expecting it's return so soon. My mom and sister both said they didn't get their period until after the kids were weaned around 12 months.
I'm still breastfeeding regularly, my son nurses 5 times daily and gets 2-3 solid meals per day. My questions are: Does the return of my period mean that my milk supply is decreasing? Will I still be able to nurse the same as before?
Also my husband and I have had unprotected sex multiple times in the last month so that means I may have been fertile at the time (yikes!) Since I have my period that means I didn't conceive though right? Or should I still take a test to be sure?

The return of AF can sometimes cause a dip in supply, but it's only temporary. Keep nursing as before and it will recover.

There's no way to know if this is a true menstruation or not. The color or heaviness doesn't determine what kind of bleed it is. The only way to know is with charting. A true menstruation follows ovulation. If ovulation did not occur first, then this bleeding could be related to ovulation itself. It could be related to an attempt at ovulation that failed. Or it could be implantation bleeding. To be sure, a test will be accurate 19 days after the last time you had intercourse.

I got my period when my daughter was 13 months old and she nurses all day and night. It was regular at first but then it was off by a couple days and just this last time it was late for 2 weeks.It sucks because I keep thinking i might be pregnant lol

People get their periods at different times, don't compare yourself to your mom or sister. It varies from person to person.
