I am pregnant with my second child and I am overweight. Before finding out I was pregnant I was eating right and going to the gym. Now that I am pregnant, I am absolutely horrified to gain weight. My husband has made comments about my weight here and there and I already feel very unattractive. Everytime I eat or think about gaining weight I cry and I am seriously depressed over this. But with this baby I feel like I am starving! Any advice you other moms have would be greatly appreciated!!
These are the days you should keep happy and remain more glowing than ever and you're telling us that you're crying?! NO way. Trust me, treat your husband's comments as totally off-hand and brush them off. I am sure he loves you much more than that and will be very understanding. Maybe it was a slip of the tongue or he was just in a bad mood or something, that he vented it out on you at the spur of the moment. Just do make sure and keep in touch with your doctor at regular intervals, coz at times like these when we have those hunger pangs we tend to eat without thinking and the blood sugar level needs to be kept in check at all times. Once that is under control, nothing to worry. And once you have the baby, you'll be back in shape in no time at all! You would have after your first kid, isn't it? The same way! Relax and cheer up!
It's really normal to eat and eat when you are pregnant. I guess, just don't mind what your husband has been telling you. You need to fill your body with more nutrients because you now have a baby in your womb. Tell him the truth that you need to eat a lot because you're pregnant. I'm sure he'll understand and support you all the way.
I know how it feels to take every comment that your husband makes very personally but eating more during pregnancy is completely natural. It may help to discuss your feelings with him because I'm sure he would not want you to be upset by his comments.
