I found out on July 28 that I have one, decent sized, clot in my left calf and several small ones in my left lung. I noticed my leg was feeling weird, kinda tight, and it hurt to walk. Then the next day I couldn't walk at all hardly and my leg was swollen big time. After going to my dr. and him sending me to the ER, they did an ultrasound on my leg and a CT scan on my lungs. I was hospitalized for 5 days. I had to have shots of blood thinner in my stomach twice a day while in the hospital and once a day for 5 more days after I got home. I can now (just with in the last few days) walk normal and without it hurting. I will have to be on Coumadin (blood thinners) for at least the next six months. I also have to wear a compression stocking to help with the blood flow in my leg. They think it was the birth control I was on but they don't know for sure. I go to a hemotologist (sp?) on August 22 to rule out any genetic disorders. I hope it was just the BC!!
Just wanted to share my story and see if maybe anyone else has been through this.
