Okay, so I need some help. I am pregnant with my first child, and I NEED some help quitting!!!
I need to know if you can wear the patch while you are pregnant??

I know its not good for the baby that I'm still smoking.. I just don't know what to do..
Everyone around me smokes!! Here at work & DH.. Its so hard knowing that he goes outside to smoke.. and here I am.. So I go out with him and Smoke!!!

I have cut down to about 1/2 pack a day.. I REALLY want to Breastfeed but I know I can't if I continue to smoke..

I feel like I need someone to lock me up for about a week..

I found the guilt got to me. Everytime i thought about having one i thought about my little one inside me.

I know its horrible but try thinking about everytime you cough cause of smoking, and how bad you smell of cigaretes. Do you want to give that to your child?

I hope i dont sound like im being horrible, but sometimes guilting yourself is a good way.

Also try thinking about doing it for YOU not the baby or anyone else. That extra cash, and the fitness ect......

Take it a day at time. And go easy on yourself.

As for everyone smoking around you, I found that when I quit other peple started to smoke less and eventually quit. Whilst your smoking you cant ask them not to around your bump, but if you quit ask them not to. Also if its your friends they might respect the fact your trying to quit.

Once you do it you wont regret it though.

Hi, i am also having trouble quitting and i am pregnant.

I stopped when i was about 3 months and started up again at about 4-5 months (not sure now) I started again because i lost my job abnd was devastated.... and now its hard to quit because i am so bored at home alone ....

THey say that the patches are worse then smoking as they are a constant supply of nicotene, i used the lozenge and the lower mg one. When i quit. And thats what i will be using again tomorrow after noon when i quit for good!!!

Aussie mum to be? Just wondering do you smoke for the nicotine or the habbit? Try replacing smoking with something else.

Cross stich or knitting or something like that? For the baby?

If you want to chat more PM I'd like to think I might be able to help

Ladies, I was in the same situation. I did manage to quit, but it was pretty far along, and I tried. I quit several times throughout the pregnancy before I quit for the rest of it. It is extremely hard and I know what you are going through.

Try to muster up whatever you can to quit. It's easy when you are preggo to keep saying, "I'll just have one more, tomorrow I'll quit" and before you know it -- you've smoked too long. Trust me, you will feel guilty later. I do, I regret it so much.. My friend did the same thing and warned me against it, but cigarettes are so powerful.

Yes I agree that cigarettes are really powerful. I think the habbit more than the actually craving.

And when you think about it... what are they but rolls of grass? That give you yellow teeth. Stinky breath and make you cough lol

well here I am. I have like 4 weeks to go.. and I'm still smoking!! I feel so bad, but I keep doing it. Why? i don't know. maybe cause everyone here at work does it and DH does it, and him doing it at home (outside) doesn't help me quit..
