Technically after you turn 18 you should have one every year regardless as to weather or not you are having sex and weather or not you are monogomous. However, some doctors will be ok with spacing out your paps after you turn 30 if you have had 3 normal paps in a row.
I used to have one every year, but now my Dr. has told me about some reccent study that shows women only need to have them every 2-3 years, but that is all about depending on you - if you are in a serious, monogomous relationship, etc.
If I were you, I would talk to your Dr. about it and see what his/her opinion is on it.
