I want to replace my smoking habit with an exercise habit.
I've been a smoker off and on for about seven years now. There are times when I've quit for several months, but then I get right back on the bandwagon and start up again. I've always been a little overweight, but now I'm very much overweight. It was quite a process getting this big, I took medications for depression and birth control that really helped back on the pounds. Coupled with getting older, my metabolism readjusting and poor nutrition and exercise, I've really gotten heavy! I'm so sick of the way I look, and I want to break my bad habits of smoking and not exercising and replace them with a dedication to nutrition and fitness. I want to do this because I want to have a happy, healthy child (we're going to start TTC after our wedding in April). I know what I need to do, I'm just scared of failure and afraid that I won't be able to be strong enough to stick it out! My FH is also going to quit - he has had a health problem due to his smoking! I just can't believe what we're doing to ourselves with our bad habits, but I don't know how to stop!
I just wanted to stop by this board and maybe get some support from those of you who have already quit and have been successful.
Wish me luck, I'm gonna need it!
