Hello Everyone, This is my first time posting on the Women's Health board.
I have been getting headaches every day for the past 2 weeks. They come and go but I have them most of the day. The pain is mostly on my temples and then also the back of my head. I have tried taking Alieve for them and it does not help (in the past Alieve does help). It's not often that I ever get headaches so this has me worried. I started a new job and don't have health insurance for another month. I have been reading up online which makes me worry more! I purchased short term insurance today for this coming month until I'm insured but I will have to pay out of pocket some.
Any advise? I have been sleeping well, eating, and making sure to drink water.
Big HUGS to you! I get monthly regular migraines,so I feel for you! I cant take anything asprin based because of having UC...something that *sometimes* helps me is coffee....strong and lots of coffee! The caffeine in it helps with headaches. Also...at walgreens they have childrens cool packs. The can be refrigerated, but dont have to be. They are meant for fevers...but I found them to help with the pain. You peel off the back and stick them to your forehead....relieves pain up to 30 minutes...doesnt seems like alot of time....but when your head hurts so bad 30 minutes sounds great! Wish I could help more....

I'm one of several in my family who has terrible migraines. Is it possible you slept wrong one night? It might be worth a trip to the chiropractor if a pinched nerve is causing the pain. I used to get TERRIBLE migraines (dizzy, vomiting, etc) about 4-5 days per week. I started going to a chiropractor in 2001 and now I have about 1 migraine every couple of months! I still get headaches, but not nearly as often and not nearly as bad. Most chiro's give you a discount if you don't have health insurance. My chiro does free xrays once per year to monitor progress. He's helped my husband's scoliosis and my son's tort, scoliosis, and windswept hips (congenital).
