I found out I was pregnant, and I want to quit smoking again. So far I quit for 2 whole days with patches with the okay of my OB. 2 whole days without smoking. Then that Friday I forgot to out a patch on and smoked one cigarette then put a patch on. Then from then on its been downhill. I can go without a cigarette all day, then at night time a voice in my head says " Smoke". I give in and smoke.

after I smoke, I feel so gulity. I done so good before, I quit for 3 months and I quit before I even got pregnant the 2nd time. I just quit because I wanted too, and I picked them back up to lose weight.

I dont want to smoke because I dont want to hurt the baby.

I need some help. I feel so bad. I feel awful, but yet I am struggling with this. I can go 16 hrs without a cigarrette then at night time it hits me.

I smoke like 3 cigarettes at night. I have cut down big time, I was back up to 30 cigs a day. I need help..

You guys can do it. I did it 19 days ago. I smoked four 15 years a pack a day (sometimes more It helped that I found a really cool website with a massive message board for people trying to quit. It is called Quitnet.com It is really neat and everyone is really nice. Check it out. I will tell you that it has helped me alot.

I also feel guilty when I smoke a cigarette too. Before pregnancy I smoked about a pack and sometimes more a day. Now I go a few days without a cigarette but then if I get very stressed or get into a fight with my boyfriend I will end up smoking 1 or 2. My mom smoked a little less then 1/2 a pack a day when she was pregnant with me. Granted they didn't have all the studies out in the 80's. I was 8lbs and healthy.

Just hang in there and keep trying! I know one thing that really helped me was reading about people online that died from smoking. I did not want to be one of those people. I also didn't want my kids to see me doing it and think it was okay. Are you using gum? That helps some people.

I feel for you guys. I tried to quit when I was pg with my son (7yrs ago). Although I cut down considerably..I still smoked like one or 2 a day. I was blessed that he turned out completely healthy. Since then I have quit about 3 times..the longest being 2 yrs. It get's easier as you get older I have found..more will power I guess..I quit 2 months before I concieved this one. I'm not glouting ladies in anyway..just wanted to tell you..your not alone..there is always someone out there that is going through it as you are. Good luck.

I quit smoking new years day, i wish i'd have done it about 6 months earlier, maybe i wouldnt have lost my baby in august...but who knows?

I was worried i'd put on too much weight, i'm actually losing weight, ive lost 6lbs since i quit, coz i'm eating healthier too...people say dieting and quitting smoking is a bad idea, AHHH shut up its great, i think more about my diet than i do smoking...! My mum and dad smoke and i still live with them and them smoking around me doesnt even bother me nomore and ive only been quit for 23 days!

GOOD LUCK!

I quit when I found out I was pregnant last week. Cold turkey, no relapse. Where are you getting your ciggarettes from? It is so much easier when there are none in the house.

I picture a little fetus in my tummy clutching his/her throat and coughing every time I want to smoke. It is working so far.

Twizzlers and sunflower seeds help, Tootsie roll pops. Avoid smokers at all cost.

You can do it! Your baby is depending on you!

i used to smoke a few years ago. i always had to smoke. even though i wasn't pregnant or anything i decided to quit. my bf hates cig. smoke and he doesn't smoke himself either. he would always tell me u r so pretty, smoking is such a turn off. not only did that kinda hurt when he said that but i thought about it. i weighed out the good n bad n decided to quit cold turkey. it was hard. i even snuck in cigarettes here and there when i was alone so he wouldn't know. but soon i just stopped in all. it's very important for you to stop. i know it's very hard but u have to think of your baby n ur health. u will be glad when it's all over with. my suggestions are avoiding being around smokers and maybe joining somekind of group. it sounds cheesy but it works. people quit more often when they are around others doing the same thing. good luck in quitting! You have the will power to do it, you just have to take charge of it and carry it out. Good luck!

I quit smoking cold turkey February 6, the day I found out I was pregnant. I threw out all my ciggies and gave the few remaining full packs away to a friend. I feel SO much better for it. A friend of mine gave me a great tip for quitting, everytime you feel the urge to smoke brush your teeth with a really strong toothpaste. After that you won't want to smoke because of the taste and it will keep you from binge eating as well. The added benefit is you are brushing away the effects of plaque and nicotine build up on your teeth and no more smokers breath.

It might not work for all but it worked for me.
