The truth is, the answer for both is the magic. When I was a kid I was wrapped up in the idea of Santa, not because of the presents as much as because I truly wanted there to be magic in this world. Now I am still looking forward most to the magic of christmas, except that I get to spread it for my own children
What did you look forward to most about Christmas/holidays as a child? Spending time with my entire family that I didn't get to see for most of the year, except on Holidays, Going to church (does that surprise anyone?? lol) Decorating and putting up the Christmas tree and of course, the presents (what child doesn't? )
What do you look forward to now?
Still spending time with family especially with the kids, decorating and putting up the Christmas tree, making cookies for the kids, this is really the only time of the year that we can get the kids what they want bad. Well, except for their birthdays. The spirit of the year.
What did you look forward to most about Christmas/holidays as a child? coming downstairs on christmas morning w/ my sister to see all the gifts from Santa- our big lunch w/ all the family (when my grandma was alive)
What do you look forward to now? spending Christmas Eve and Christmas day w/ family! Getting everyone together- having a yummy meal and exchanging gifts. This year- I think will be even better as we will have a new baby to add in the tradition!
What did you look forward to most about Christmas/holidays as a child? the family meal at my nans house. it was always a big affair, we always got the same gifts (hats, scarf, gloves, vests, socks!) and people knew to behave at my nans house so there was no trouble until we got home. my nan always made it special and full of love
What do you look forward to now? seeing the smile on my childrens faces (and those of strays i take in for the day )
Friends are the family you choose yourself and I love my JM sisters!
as a child, probably the thing I looked forward to the most was the presents! My grandma would come and stay the night and we would stay up late and open presents. There was one year we went to late mass and stayed up until 2am opening gifts.
Truly, it wasn't so much about the gifts I was given, but seeing the faces of my family members when they opened the gift I had picked out for them.
Even now, as an adult, I still really enjoy making special gifts for my family, and seeing their faces light up and I know I got it right!
