I posted on FB about starting another 10 day juice fast and I've received some questions about what this is.
It's a juice fast. You drink green juices and tons of water for 10 days straight. This is to detoxify the body. You will need a juicer to do this.
The best recipe to use is the Mean Green.

I modify mine a bit though with less celery as that packs a punch. Mustard Greens are also a great thing to use (ANY leafy green is actually) and you can't taste it at all. The best is Kale though, as it's a
superfood. For those who go to the Natural Health board, you'll notice a post a bunch of stuff from Natural News. It's not my only source of information, it's just.. well, I love them! LOL!

I would recommend to watch the documentary Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. You can watch it on Netflix or on Hulu.com if you don't have Netflix. It will give you the day by day of 3 ppl with serious health issues doing a juice fast and what it did to their body. It's amazing.
Doing a simple google search will find you an incredible amount of information. I recommend to read up a bit on it as well (this is funny, I'm doing this link just because it's funny, I'm not being mean I swear!):

Did I mention the weightloss yet? No.. oh, ok well..if you want to lose weight and get healthy, there's no better way to start than to do a detox. The weightloss is simply an incredible side effect.
I can personally attest to doing this because I *have* done it. In the Summer of 2011 I started my 10 day juice fast. I bought a series of Nora Roberts books and laid my butt on the couch and ignored life for 24hrs (best to start this on the weekend if it's your first time). I slept a lot, and yea, I had some headaches. Thinking of food was hard, but I had my books so I was good.
Day 2 I still had a slight headache, wasn't noticing too much of a difference, kept reading and got through the day. It was easier though, I didn't sleep nearly as much. (I mainly slept just so I could ignore the world on day 1 and 2, it's not like I was falling asleep dead because of the juice).
By day 3 - OMG IT WAS AMAZING. The amount of energy I had... how clearly I was thinking! Even through my research, I was still completely dumbfounded and amazed at how my body felt. I was losing inches off my body fast. Day 3 was a breeze. I had 0 issues and was LOVING life and juicing.
Day 4 - EVEN BETTER! It's like each day just got better and better. Instead of a green juice, I drank straight watermelon juice as a snack that night. Bad idea. It caused me stomach pains and by 10pm that night I had to eat something because my stomach was cramping but there wasn't anything there for it cramp onto!
I battled with whether to end the fast or not, but I decided I would end it and figure out why the watermelon juice did that to me and try again. Here I am trying again. The bodily changes I went through during those 4 days was incredible. My stomach looked like someone elses. I had also lost 8-10lbs during those days.
I did a partial fast when we first moved a cpl months ago, but it didn't have the same effects. I want to do it 100% again and I cannot WAIT. Dh will be doing it with me, as well as Tiff and her hubby I hope!! ♥ I may have possibly convinced Terri that it sounds awesome enough to try.
So, who's with me? Anyone else want to do this and document how you feel? I'll be taking daily pictures/weight and measurements and posting them
Forgot to add: I was very happy with myself during these 4 days, I felt wonderful, I had so much energy (coffee doesn't even come close, I don't care how obsessed you are with it) from the juices and I actually felt very very spiritual!
EDIT: Of course, this is a health thing so yea.. you know, check with the Dr. and all that jazz.
