I'm sorry I've been on the quiet side this week.
I've told my new employer, supply agency and the Jobcentre that I'm pregnant this week, and was worked up about that before I even started. That all went well I am pleased to report - the lady at the Jobcentre was VERY pleased for me both for my imminent new job and the new baby - but then more stress happened!
The last-minute supply teaching has been really stressful this week for both me and my mum (she has to be ready in case she needs to drop everything and take Daniel to school on foot) - what with calls out of agreed hours, cancelled and rearranged assignments, etc. This is the first week it's really been like that (I guess it's getting busy as we're close to a break and more people may be off sick) and Daniel has not coped well with the chopping and changing (for those who don't know, he has autism). He has been anxious about school for several weeks, and it all came to a head yesterday when he hit his support assistant in the face. So I have had that to deal with as well.
Woke up this morning at 4.30am worrying about it all, and then had a terribly upset stomach - first attack of the IBS since I came off the medication when TTC. So I have contacted the agency today to change my availability to pre-booked assignments only - it's not worth Daniel having a terrible time, or me getting stressed out and it affecting the baby, especially when I have a FT job to go to soon which will be same place, same time each day.
I have also had paperwork for my new job and a phone call with their Occupational Health this week, which has all gone swimmingly and been fine, but I just feel like there's been a lot to do this week really. I am looking forward to a weekend IN BED watching TV, eating whatever I feel like and hanging out on JM. (Daniel's with his dad this weekend). But just thought I'd explain why I've been quiet and check in with you all about my week!

Oh Sharron, i hope things calm down soon for you so you can get some much deserved rest. With being pre-arranged from now on that should help Daniel be more prepared. I have started doing a weekly schedule with the boys now so they can see for the week what we are doing and when, it seems to have helped. Would something like this help with Daniel (thats if you are not already doing it).

We do do that for known factors, I still won't be able to write up a complete schedule for the whole week until I start my FT job in April though, since I could still be booked for a day's work the day before if you see what I mean.

I know what you mean, it must be so hard, but at least in a couple of month you will be in more of a routine and hopefully things will settle down.

Well Sharron the week is over and you came out of it victorious. You decision to take only pre-arranged only and not last minute subbing assignments is definitely better for you, your son and your mom. Good job there. You need to take care of what is most important first. Great news. I am so glad.

Hopefully things calm down for you now that you've asked for pre-scheduled only. Take it easy and rest.
