It took an absolute age. We meant to get a small tree this year but the small ones were really pretty naff and the one my mum really liked turned out to be taller than any of us, so there was a lot of reaching around it to wrap lights and tinsel. I checked the lights before wrapping them round the tree. Of course, as soon as I get them all wrapped round the tree and in place and switch them back on to see how it was looking, one set fused. Then the replacement fuse bulb fell apart because it hadn't been made properly and it took Shaun an hour to fix it. THEN, because the tree was much bigger than we'd anticipated, it still looked quite empty with all the "nice" ornaments on it and I had to go dig about upstairs looking for the cheap baubles we bulk out with when needed.

Anyway, I'm pleased with the result!

So we have a purple/silver/pink/blue/white decorated living room. There are foil lanterns and garlands on the ceiling and walls as well though they don't warrant pictures.

Lights on -

Lights off -

Look who's on the tree -

Windowsill with the new wicker reindeer I fell in love with at the garden centre and my silver angels -

And we have red, gold, green, cream and white in the dining room.

Table decorations I made with our red, gold and green baubles which we haven't used on the tree this year.

And our plastic greenery! Plus a little mini-tree Shaun's mum gave us a couple of years ago finally put to good use (excuse the washing and general mess).

How Id wish I could set up a tree in the house. We just bought 20 computer units we will be using for our business and the garage and the living room are all stuffed. Aside from that, it's our in-law's house and so it's is full of old things my in-laws dont wish to throw or give away. Though I convinced my FIL last night to wrap lights around our garden bushes and palms. lol

LOL.. just a bunch of red shatterproof balls. I love red for Christmastime. And, with Emerson... we needed ornaments that wouldn't break. but, thank you very much!

lol I suppose I'll have to think about that next year, most of my ornaments are glass and very breakable indeed.

Yes.. you will. Emerson took them off the bottom of the tree and chucked them while saying... BALL!!!! Most stores here sell the shatterproof ornaments in nifty bundles with coordinating colors and themes and they are CHEAP!

Our red/green/gold set are plastic baubles, there's not enough for a full tree, but I can easily get some more from the pound shops.
