Dh felt bad that I was being left alone for almost 2 months, so when I found her on craigslist, even though she wasn't free and was almost a full tank of gas's drive away he told me to get her if I could!

So meet miss Nola!



She isn't all black, she has white/tanish colored spots on her chin, chest, belly, paws and the tip of her tail. I'm interested to see her color changes over the next few months... We chose to name her Nola because we were married in New Orleans (which is known as NOLA) and we couldn't agree on any of the other thanks I liked (Raeya, Hali, Cree, Quinn....). She's part Siamese, which is why her eyes are that pretty color. Her mom was Siamese and her dad is a medium hair pure black cat.

My mom was like "you got a black cat? aren't they bad luck?" I don't really believe in that sort of thing, and she's been wonderful for me... definitely good practice for one day being a mom... Everything from bottles (they told me she was weaned, she wasn't quite so she got a few bottles) to wiping butts (she's so small there's always a chance she'll not squat high enough).

So sweet! I don't believe black cats are bad luck. I actually have a tattoo of two black cats as a way of embracing/laughing at the run of bad luck I had been having a few years ago.

My last two cats were black and white... DH prefers black cats himself (his last cat was a polydactly black manx, who lives at his ex's). We will look for a while, or Torti when we get our next one Not sure if we can handle two Siamese or not. LOL.

She's definitely a sweet thing.. I look forward to when she learns how to climb responsibly.. rather than just wildly scrabbling while trying to climb me.

If anything I think black cats are LUCKY. I've always been told it's lucky when they cross your path. I've had three black cats who were all gorgeous, very intelligent and very tuned in to their humans.

She is just the sweetest, and all black cats (even though she is not) are most definitely NOT bad luck!! I had an all black cat, and he was my angel! I plan on getting another all black when I'm able to get cats again, just not ready now.

But PLEASEEEEEEEEEE share more and more pictures of her, cuz I am in love! Literally, in love.
