So my friend had (yes had) one and she was using it last night. Its not the first time her and her daughter and friend has played with it. but I get a msg on fb this morning that read that it started spinning really fast and did a lot of other crazy crap.. she then wrote she burnt it in her grill... I googled (my go to source) how to properly get rid of/ destroy a quija board, and some said burning it was ok but still looked down upon but almost all sources said to cut it up into 7 pieces and then bury them... so my question is, is she going to have problems now bc she burnt it. eek. Im scared for her. Havent spoken yet to see if shes ok and get the real DL on what all exactly happened.

I don't know what the proper way to dispose of a Ouija board is... But I do know that if you open a door that allows unwanted spirits in via Ouija board... The only way to send them back through that door and close it is with the same Ouija board... At least that is what Kane was told in regards to some of what he had in his house.

I'm interested to see what some of the other ladies say though in regards to burning it.

Burying would have been preferable. In saying that my best friend at HS went through a period of being obsessed with ouija boards, only ones made out of paper though which are somewhat easier to dispose of. She started getting this spirit called Hex that said some horrible things by means of the ouija board, and got afraid. She asked me to do it with her because she knew I wasn't afraid of such things (but this was LONG before I worked with A.Michael). We did it once in her bedroom and once in our garage with my brother, each time trying to close the board down which is done by saying "goodbye" to the spirit and then waiting for it to indicate "goodbye". The spirit would not say goodbye the first time, it did the time in the garage....eventually, after us shouting at it. She researched about what to do and found out the recommended way of cutting it into 7 pieces and burying it, on sacred ground ie a graveyard etc. Which we did.

Well, that spirit hung out in our garage for a very long time. Despite having reluctantly said "Goodbye", despite disposing of this hand-made ouija board in the correct way. We knew it was in there because my mum and I are both sensitive to spirit and feel a haunted room. She and my dad saw eyes through the garage windows at night. We had rabbits and one time in the winter we put them in the garage overnight when it froze. In the morning they were desperate to get out, we kept them in the kitchen after that. One rabbit turned nasty and started attacking the other one, we had to give it back to the pet shop. Not to mention that friendship was doomed, my friend and I fell out over something and things were never the same.

It was only when I started working with Archangel Michael that I worked out how to move it on for good. I am guessing (though I don't know because we are no longer in touch) it still hung out in my friend's bedroom, too. And have no idea if she ever worked out how to shift it.

So, we did it the supposed "right way" and it didn't work. I think it depends more on the potency of the spirit, rather than whether the board is closed down right and whether the board is disposed of correctly. If she burnt it, burning is transmutative, and should be a suitable alternative to burying whether traditional or not (any other sort of magick I've done involving transmuting energies, the two have been interchangeable). IF she has problems I doubt it will be to do with the method of disposal.

If the worst it did was spinning etc, I think she's probably going to be ok. Our one said some really horrible messages about killing pets and harming people my friend knew.

The one thing I really don't like is that she burnt it in the house. I would have her do a cleanse of that room particularly and then the whole house over the next few days. Using sage smudge and banging a drum, saying a set prayer (such as the Lord's prayer or the prayer of St Francis), calling in Archangel Michael to take the spirit to the halls of wisdom until its energy could be transmuted back to light. Afterwards I would have her put a saucer of rock salt (or clear quartz points) in each corner of the room for protection, and in each corner of the house. I just feel you can't be too careful - I know from experience ouija boards are not to be messed with.

IF she has any problems after that I would suggest she contact a local Pagan/Wiccan moot or coven; Christian pastor or priest; or spiritualist minister or medium for help as soon as possible.

I hope Jackie or Tiff sees this as I'm interested in what they have to say about the burning/burying question. Please don't take my answer as 100% correct verbatim. There are other wise people here as well and while I have had one experience this isn't my strong suit.

First, no one should be playing with the Ouija board unless they are protected and know what they're doing. Second, burning works probably just as well as burying in my opinion but I would for sure have her cleanse her house or where ever she was using the board with sage and a protection spell. I don't know that I'd tell her to use quartz though as quartz lends it's energy to entities and may make things worse if she has something that came in with the board.

When I work with the board I ALWAYS cast my circle to protect myself and only invite positive energies. I always make sure I close my board when I'm done too just so that nothing unwanted comes through. If I think that something unwanted has come through I cleanse with sage and protection spells.

Hopefully this information will help her...

I saw her today and she said the board wasnt spinning the glass thingy was. they tried to burn it but it wouldnt burn and then cut it up and threw it in several different trashcans. I told her about the sage and stuff. she doesnt think it was evil she thinks that our mutual friend was getting too riled up and got the spirit worked up. thank you so much for all the replies!!!! I love you girls!!

I'm very glad all seems ok.

Thanks Tiff for replying and sharing your wisdom! I knew you'd have a clearer answer than me. I personally have never worked with ouija since that experience as a teen, I know there are safe ways, but I'd just rather not.

All you have to do is ground out the energy.

It's just a tool like any other divination means but people get so darn worked up over these boards. "Spooky" things happen with boards because people have an expectation for something bad to happen. They're waiting for it, and that sense of anxiety helps an individual open themselves up to be more receptive of spiritual energy.

Now I remember fully why I would never go within 10 feet of one of those boards. I went home from a good number of sleepovers because I just get the most awful vibe off of them. I can't even sleep in a house that has one (I suspect it's why I've had a hard time sleeping in some of the apartment buildings I've lived in...)
