Tonight a huge butterfly visited my window, it hung around for a bit and then flew off.
It kinda left me with a "bad" feeling though, like something is wrong.
Am I reading too much into a random accurance? Or is something wrong?

Butterflies are generally regarded as a good omen, but I always say go with your instincts.

The only thing I could think of is, 1.) butterflies signify transformation first and foremost, so perhaps the bad feeling is signifying that the transformation may be a bit challenging.

Either way, good wishes sent to you!

Describe bad feeling? As mentioned before, butterflies represent change. Are you afraid of change?

I agree with the others, it's usually a positive sign - could the "bad" feeling just be because you took it as a sign of some sort and didn't know what of, so it made you apprehensive?

A butterfly can also signify a departed loved one visiting - did you ever have that same feeling around someone who had passed, perhaps someone there were unresolved issues with? On the other side spirits are thought to view everything from a perspective of love so they would be coming to help, or make amends, and this need not be feared.

So it was a moth not a butterfly.
Does it still "mean" the same?

I was always led to believe that moths are symbols of intuition, as they are nocturnal.

Not too sure how to interpret that though.

Here is the poor moth that came to visit me.
I found him the next day dying.
He passed away in my hand.

So pretty

Moths symbolize change and truth coming to light.... So, if the change that is coming means that you will have to let go of a habit or relationship that no longer serves you... But that you are not ready to release, it can feel like a negative omen. However, these changes always result to your good.

You made a very personal connection with the moth, too - for me this gives a feeling that you accept him as an animal companion and guide - he is stunningly beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
