You scored 55, on a scale of 25 to 100. Here's how to interpret your score:

I scored 90....candidate for clergy. Not really accurate to me as I don't believe women should be in the clergy, but it does show that I am very firm and confident in my faith, which is accurate.

May I ask a question, and I truly mean no disrespect to your faith but am curious as to why you don't believe women belong in the clergy?

TIA!

Well, I know this is going to be hard to swallow for some of you, but here it goes.....God made man the head of the household. Women are by no means any less important to God, but we are meant to be subserviant to men. However, men are supposed to head their household with love and gentleness as Jesus led the church. God does not expect women to be subserviant to men who are abusive or are ruling in a harsh manner, and he never meant us to be their slaves. Men are to be the leaders in the church because of this reason. A woman shouldn't rule over a man or take his position. The only time in the Bible this ever happened was with Deborah. No man would step up and be a judge, so God put Deborah in the position. When a man finaly stepped up though, Deborah stepped down. God will use women in these positions if there is no man to step up and do it. However, women, as a rule, should not preside over men. Not to say that women have no role in the home or church. God saw women as very important. God gave salvation to men and women and expects women to spread the gospel just as much as men. They are just not to have a position of authority in the local church, such as pastor or deacon. I hope that helps. I don't know really how else to explain it. If you still have questions, I can ask my husband. He knows the Bible even better than I do as he is a licensed minister. I hope that helps though, and no offense taken. I don't mind answering questions.

Edited for stupid spelling mistakes.

Thank you Lydia for the honest answer. It certainly isn't in line with my beliefs but I only think it's fair to try to understand other's views even when you don't agree with them.

Thanks again for answeing my question.

So mommycolvin I have a real question and don't be offended but I'm curious and I hope you don't mind a question. So since you don't believe women should be preachers would you ever listen to a woman preacher? I don't really like church but one church I went to in my religious search was a pentacostal church (with a woman minister) and I must say out of all the preachers I'd ever heard she was the one to me who seemed like the best preacher ever. But if you heard a message that was wonderful would you ignore it because it was a woman preacher? Sorry for wording my question weird, I'm not really sure how to put it cause I don't know if you mind the question lol

I don't mind at all, and I am not offended. It's kind of a tough question. Women can be very effective speakers and if their message was in line with what the Bible says, I would not mind listening. I personally believe it is okay for a woman to speak, I just don't believe she should be a pastor, head of the local church. I don't think that they should be in a position of authority, but speaking about the Bible can be a job for a man or a women. So, yes, I would listen to her sermon, and would have no problem with it as long as it was Biblically based. I hope I didn't confuse you... what I am trying to say is there is a difference between speaking and having a position of authority in the church. If you're confused, let me know and I will try to explain it better. I, personally, and my husband believe that there are more important things to be concerned with in the church than whether women are pastors or not. We don't believe they should be, and in our denomination, there are no female pastors. However, some people get really fired up over this issue and believe it is horrible for a woman to be a pastor, and some feel it is perfectly fine. We, however feel there are bigger things to worry about. It's one of the little things that, embarrassingly, Christians fight amongst themselves about. I don't feel it's worth the fight. I feel the Christian religion has bigger fish to fry than that, so I personally don't get that worked up about it. There are very wonderful Christian women out there, and if they are preaching according to Bible, I don't really agree with it, but I am not going to get overly upset about it. That's just my personal feelings. I hope that helps, and I thought your question was very valid and a good one as was Dani's before. No problem!

Thank you very much for the answer, I wish more people were like you. Even though I'm not a christian I really admire this woman, you should see how she gets treated by other churches in the area it's apalling. Just beacuase they don't believe a woman should be a head of a church they are downright spiteful to her. It's VERY refreshing to see a christian who differs then a lot of them around here. You gave me the response I hoped you would. You wouldn't agree but you would listen. Thanks very much. I hope I make sence lol, do I?

Yes, you make sense. I agree too. I think it is appalling that some of my fellow Christians get so caught up with the little things, they lose sight of what is important. I am glad I could help!
