My cousin was a surrogate mother for a dear friend of hers - the baby was born healthy and fine and now is having terrible problems - we are all trying to pass the word around - the power of prayer can work miracles!

Here is her email:

I need prayers for the little guy. "Porter", the baby I delivered, has been in ICU for 5 days. It's touch and go. He has been diagnosed with "staph pneumonia". He is on his 3rd antibiotic, 2nd respirator (he can't breathe on his own), and they are trying to get his blood pressure under control again. He still has fluid and air on his lungs (his lungs collapsed on Friday, but are now inflated again).

He was a perfectly healthy baby until last week. His entire day care and teacher were out sick on the morning before he was rushed to the emergency room. He kept a fever of 104 for a couple of days, and they finally gave in and gave himself to bring it down. Since he was only 4 1/2 months old they were hesitant about what they gave him. Prior to that he was on an ice bed, with a fan and rag on his head.

He looks so pitiful. They are keeping him sedated so that he doesn't stir up the infection, or pull out the IVs or breathing equipment. He did open his eyes last Thursday for about 20 minutes when I was there. His eyes were pleading for me to pick him up and hold him. I haven't seen him since. No visitors are allowed, and even how often the parents come and go has been restricted.

Please pray for him. Without a doubt God put this special little man on earth for a reason. This may be in his plans, but I know the strength of prayer is a powerful thing.

Bino
