My name is Stacy and my husband and I are adopting domestically. We have been matched with a birthmom and she is due mid-August. I'm wondering if anyone here has any info on relactation and nursing adopted infants?
Hi! Congratulations!!! I'm so happy for you! Yes, it is possible! There are ways to stimulate your milk production - I didn't know that until afterwards or I would have given it a try - I enjoyed it very, very much with Connor.
Here are several links I found along the way - Hope this helps! Good luck and keep us posted!
I am currently on a protocol to be able to breastfeed my baby that is going to be born via surrogacy. I am following the asklenore.com protocol (BCP and Domperidone started asap, thru the 7th month of pregnancy and then I drop the BCP add the herbs blessed thistle and fenugreek and begin pumping), Lenore can design you a separate protocol though since you don't have as much time. She's great!
