So Im gonna talk to my OBGYN about this today at my appointment, but I am very concerned about post-partum depression after this baby, especially since we are giving him up for adoption. I'm not sure how it's going to effect me.

Right now I'm okay with it and I've accepted that it's how it's going to be and that it's definitely the best thing for everyone involved, but I'm afraid that after I have the baby and my hormones shift, I'm not sure what kind of mental/emotional plane I'll be on.

Anyone have any input?

I think that is a very good idea to talk to your doctor before hand. I can imagine you are going to have a roller coaster of emotions What you are doing is so wonderful but I imagine will be very hard on you

Would you be interested in an adoption buddy or anything like that? I can pm the host from the other board to see if there is someone that you can partner up with - I think you would benefit from that special friendship but of course I will let you decide.

PPD is definitely a concern with any pregnancy and possibly especially with adoption. Do talk with you doctor early and keep him informed of all you are feeling! I hope this isn't something that you will have to deal with along with everything else!

I think a buddy would probably benefit me greatly... just someone to talk to who could relate would probably help a lot.

Aw hon! I think that's a great idea too. I would also talk to your doc. I had PPD with my bio son and it was hard, but with help I made it through.
