Because I'm having a quiet moment and I want to get to know everyone on here a little better... here is a silly QOTD.
What is your favorite movie and why?
Mine is Mary Poppins. I think that's because I LOVE musicals, Julie Andrews and a good "children come to realize their parents really do love them after parents come to realize being a parent is more than providing nice stuff for their children" movie. Hehehe
Ok, I'll say Hunchback of Notre Dame. I love that movie, and it has such a great message of accepting people who look different. I LOVE Alan Menken, too. He wrote the music for several of the Disney movies, but he went all out on this one. The percussion and french horns are amazing. As a kid, it was always my dream to apprentice under him and write for Disney. Obviously that never happened. I have a pretty useless music degree. I taught one year and decided I hated parents.
I love Bed of Roses. It's cheesy, I know, but I love the story. A young woman with a bad childhood falls in love with a man who loves her without having to change her. This is my go-to movie for those days when I need to sit on the sofa in my jammies and laugh/cry/de-stress. I even love the soundtrack.
My favorite Disney kid's movie is the Emperor's New Groove. Favorite adult Disney movie would be Remember the Titans.
I've never seen Hunchback of Notre Dame. I will add it to my Netflix. Thank you for the suggestion!!
