is tomorrow night. dh will be available to attend w/me. it counts towards our 10 yrs of yearly ongoing educational hours. no first call yet. he did get the adoption class done so getting a straight adoption isn't out of the realm of possibility but we have to be approved by the adoption committee first i think and I have no idea when that will occur.

so just waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting waiting....

Ditto that, my friend.

DH and I will be attending a 'Match Party' this weekend, a three hour round-robin where kids and parents meet. I've got our local Relay for Life walk tomorrow night and then we roll out at 7AM Saturday to be there on time. We're sooo nervous!

Good Luck, Lacy! I hope you get 'the call' very, very soon.

I just saw I put 10 yrs instead of ten hours lol....

thank you Jessa. we was late by a few minutes but only missed a bit of the chatting. we did get our 1 hr for training in. and it was the first meeting for our county/region so that was interesting along w/the bits of info we didn't know but heard about last night. they are going to do it once a month as a support for fps and a lot of the times we'll have dcf employees there so we can talk and get to know them. started to get to know some of the fps last night. it was a small group but hopefullly it will grow.

wow you sound busy. hope your walk goes well today and I've heard of those meet and greets but haven't attended one. good luck.

Thanks, Lacy! I'm glad you have a support group. We just learned of one in our area today. The match party was great. I'll need to post more later. Right now I need sleeeeeep.

We have support meetings once a month (sometimes we skip months... but we try). It is fun to get together and hear from each other. We have people from DHR come out sometimes, other times we just talk about what is going on. One lady who has been a foster mom for decades in our county heads it and is wonderful!!

welcome Jessa, yup sounds like you need that sleep

Beth I'm glad our area is finally starting them then. sounds like a wonderful thing for fp's to have.

we did get a call for a respite care, a start date, no end date and no info about the child. well it was actually a 14 yr old boy. dh at first wondered why I said no (b/c it was out of the age range we told them we was comfortable with) thats about it here.

I'm sorry, hon. You know I understand saying 'no' when you feel it's for the best. I hope you get that next call soon, Lacy.
