Tomorrow is our first homestudy visit. I am so nervous and excited all at the same time. We talked to the lady that will be doing our homestudy visit about the pets and she that was not a problem at all! Wow! We also attend our 6th class tomorrow evening (10 classes total) so we are breaking the half way mark and things should be downhill from there. I just hope we find our son before the holidays so we can start things off right

Our visit was today and it went absolutely fabulous! She loved all of our chihuahuas and they snuggled with her while we talked. She loved all lizards and other critters too! After all was said and done, the cleaning was definitely overkill, lol. Nothing had to be "perfect' just livable and homely. Being open and honest was the best thing we could have done. We even changed our game plan a bit, instead of just adopting a little boy that 3-6 years old we're going to foster newborn to 3 year olds of either sex. Since we do not have birth children we figured it might be beneficial and you never know when a "temporary" placement might turn into a situation where the child needs a permanent home. We are so excited, 4 more classes to go!

Sounds like you are going the same path as us. we changed from adopt only to foster to adopt during our classes too.

Our R & C Worker is absolutely heavenly. She's so sweet and caring. Our worker told us how many children come into care in our region every year compared to the number of open homes and we were shocked. 1,201 NEW CASES each year and 300 homes in the largest region of Kentucky. That's roughly 4 children per home, so I knew what we had to do

I am so happy for you. I am alittle bummed. My husband broke his foot on the day of our first class so we missed that one. Then on our second class we couldnt find a sitter. Uggggghhh I called and emailed to ask if we could still atend the 3rd class or if it was to late. She never returned either of my calls or emails. So I assumed it was to late. Now I am having trouble finding out when the next class starts. She isnt calling me back. I hope she understood that it was really out of our control that we couldnt attend the classes. Ugggghhh
