My first suggestion is to find a good reputable adoption agency. Then interview them. Ask them about their procedures. Ask if they support open adoptions. Ask their fees. Ask anything you can think of! You might also ask around at work or church or whereever and see if you can find someone who knows someone who has adopted in your area. That would help you tremendously!
Once you pick your adoption agency, they'll help you through the next steps of getting the homestudy and background checks complete. Then, once a birthmother chooses you, you'll have alot more paperwork and stuff to complete. Once the baby is born, he or she can come home with you usually from the hospital as long as birthmother is agreeable to that and everything.
I hope it goes wonderfully for you! KUP on everything and feel free to jump in with anymore questions!
