I am an adoption social worker from Canada. Ther is a lot of work that goes into becoming adoptive parents. Paperworks galore and the dreaded Home Assessment. If the agency is reputable that is a definite must.
It's a lot of work to be able to adopt. tons of forms, lots of questions, interviews, and a home study. It should be hard since a stranger is entrusting their child with another stranger. Agencies need to make sure adoptive parents are suitable and right for these children.
It is so worth it though and its exciting!!! Dont let the hoops deter you from adopting!!
