2.5 months ago we finished up our TPR hearing (Terminate Parental Rights). Today we hear the judge denied the request. She gave no other order though. So we are back to square one. He can't go back to his paternal family and we can't adopt him. No permanency for him.

Frustrating!!!! He's been with us for almost 2 years now.

that just makes me want to cry, your family is obviously the best place for him and they can't let him have you?! That makes me so mad. I hope you're able to adopt him soon.

I am so sorry Sarabeth. It was probably just a formality and TPR will happen, but I know that wait sucks. I have had my nephew for 1.5 years (his whole life) and we are just now gonna start TPR.

No appeal... I'm not a party to the case at all. I'm just the foster parent. I don't have "rights." It doesn't change anything for him at all. It is just hard for us I guess.

In a few months, could you ask for the rights to be terminated again? or was this a one shot thing? I'm so sorry that you didn't get him.

They'll reapply for TPR after a while of working if his paternal family's home is still not approved by their county. If it is approved, they'll move him there.

I hope Buddy is placed where it's best for him. He's the one who matters the most in this process.
