I know Kari has had a garage sale or two to help raise money for the adoption, but since I live in a city the regulates how many garage sales you can have per year (only two, it sucks) I was thinking, what about selling stuff on ebay? I have a bunch of stuff that I don't use anymore and they acutally are going for a decent amount of money on eBay. I was thinking; sell the stuff and use the money to pay for my future adoption.

That being said, do you think I should say something in the listing that the proceeds will be funding an adoption? I got the idea when Ebay sent me an email suggesting that I donate some of the proceeeds of my sales to charity saying that the charity listings usually get more money.

What do you girls think?

These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

I would definitely say something on ebay about raising fund for the adoption. It might help you get higher bids on things!

Good luck with your fundraising!

Thanks, I won't be adopting for several years but I figure it doesn't hurt to start early.

Yes, I'd say that for sure! Also, for things that might not sell well on ebay, perhaps craigslist would be another option. I was thinking of doing that for some of the things around here that I don't think will sell on ebay. I might say I'm using the money to fund adoption as well since that's the account I'll use the money for!

Craigslist is a good idea! I'll have to post stuff on there, I've sold things on Craigslist before.

eBay is having a "free listings" sale (meaning you can post listings for free and you only pay eBay if something sells.) so I'll be taking advantage of that.

I'm shameless. when I listed some things today, I added my usual speal at the bottom about the adoption fund:

The proceeds to this listing will be going into an adoption fund to help pay for homestudy, travel, and other adoption related fees. Please help me bring Chloe or Jack home!

Should I have added the names though?
