This past week has been a whirlwind of events and big leaps forward. First we finally got the profile for a little boy named Adam. Despite his severe autism we decided we would like to be considered. Then that afternoon we got a call that hubby's sister is unexpectedly pregnant. Over the past 2-3 years she's gotten addicted to prescription pills and lost her home and custody of her 3 kids. She doesn't know who the father is and is teetering between trying to keep the baby and possibly letting us adopt the child. Either way we will support her decision, if it helps her get out of the hole she's dug herself and gets her on her feet I'll be happy for her and if she decides to let us raise it, I'd be equally happy and thankful and still keep the adoption open to her through this rough spot in life. Then 2 days later (last night) we got an e-mail from our worker about a boy the next county over that has no relatives that can take him and he's been in the system for a yr and 1/2 and his new goal is to be adopted out once tpr can take place next July. To our surprise he's a completely healthy (all except the adhd) little 7 year old boy. So we decided to be considered for his placement as well. As much as I would like to think we would be considered for adam we're 3 hours each direction away and he has siblings he needs to keep in contact with.

I'm pretty sure I will end up being blessed with an 8 year old and newborn by next july (baby is due middle july and tpr can happen in mid july, lol). The Lord sure works in some crazy, mysterious ways!
If it's the Lords will, who am I to argue?

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."
