Tell us who is here and where you are in the process of adopting/fostering? And/or what else is going on in your life!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm still foster mommy to my lil buddy. He has been freed for adoption, but my DH is still unsure if he can be his forever daddy. They aren't actively recruiting another family because DH is trying and I still very much want him for my forever son. Plus because of his circumstances we aren't sure another family will ever take him anyway. Since I adore him and he's thriving here we aren't in a hurry to try to find another family.
Otherwise we are on hold until our new son is a little older. I probably wouldn't take another placement until Daniel is in a "big boy" bed. I don't really have room right now anyway and I certainly don't have time. I graduate nursing school in December 2011 and then we'll look into continuing taking emergency placements.
I'm still here!!! Aiden has finally been freed for adoption (at the end of last month). I have had him since birth and it has always been the bm's (my sister) wish that I adopt him. He is 20 months old and it is finally happening. Just waiting to hear from the state adoption worker.
I still have Katie and Zac. They had started visits with bm and they are talking about starting over nights again (Katie and Zac are Aiden's bio siblings) with bm. Bm is pregnant once again, for the 7th time, the oldest two live with our parents, one is in heaven, and I have placement of the younger two and am adopting the youngest one. So who knows what the future will hold.
I'm here! Snuggling with my sweet baby Ella as I type!
We have our first follow up visit with our SW tomorrow. At the end of January we'll be able to proceed with the court to finalize our adoption.
Other than new born stuff... I'm now 8 weeks preggo and feeling very tired! Can't believe I'll have another new baby to snuggle in 7 more months!
I am here! We are done with our classes and are working on redoing our deck and putting up a fence around our pool. Once that is done we schedule our health and fire inspections and final home study.
I absolutely love this board! You get to see so many SUCCESS stories, good advice, and different stages of different types of adoptions. It truly is an amazing thing to be able to love a child from another womb as much as you love yourself or a biological child...and it takes a STRONG, SPECIAL PERSON to do so. Just out of curiosity, how many felt they were "called" to adopt or just stumbled in due to the circumstances?
I'm here! We are now "live" and being shown to birth moms in 50 states. Our homestudy was finished up about 4 weeks ago, and now we are preparing our profile packets for print and delivery. The wait is hard, we didn't have to wait for our son. I'm trying to stay focused on getting Christmas presents made early...just in case I'm too busy holding a newborn to sew in December.
I'm popping by.
I'm mom of two right now (one adopted, one bio) and we're waiting for our foster agency to call and tell us they have a little boy who is legal-risk and in need of a pre-adoptive home.
It's gonna be a long wait and I'm trying to enjoy how easy life is now and not be too impatient for the phone to ring.
