Dh and I are planning to sit down and talk about our options tonight. I plan to tell him I don't want to TTC. it's just too much of a danger for my to be pregnant with the high blood pressure and all. It was way to scary last time. But I want to be able to give him some info on us being able to afford adoption and all that too. I know there are grants and that some of you ladies have done fundraisers. but I don't know how to even start all of that. Any infomation on those things would be greatly appreciated.

We haven't started on the fund raising part yet. Cost depends on if you want domestic or international. From what I've found international is more expensive. We've researched several different agencies and facilitators and there is a pretty extensive range is cost. I think the average of the ones we were seriously considering was around $20,000.

I went with a domestic adoption through a facilitator for our DS and we are waiting again. A lot of it depends on what you want....Foster care is free or they reimburse. Domestic is usually less expensive than international. The age of the child sometimes matters too. Race can raise the cost too. I went with an agency that has a flat free for race and age and gender. I think it's absurd that the agencies can charge up to 12k more for a caucasian child. Do your research (and soul-searching too). You can PM me if you have ANY questions.
