You are going through DSS right? The homestudy should not cost anything.
We applied in December 2007 and were approved and received our first placement on July 1, 2008. I hear that is fairly quick around here. I was really motivated and got all our paperwork done quickly and both homestudies and our interviews were done during our 30 hours of classes we had to take (10 weeks of a 3 hour class each week).
We are going through DSS, yes. I have sent a basic inquiry through their site. Hoping for a reply soon.
Am I mistaken or did you mention in another thread that you were reimbursed for the fees? If this is the case, how much could we expect to need on hand until the state can get around to reimbursing us?
Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!
Proud former foster parent to a teen. Waiting on our next call. Proud Aunt to 22.
Proud mommy to 7 angels. Survivor of 4 failed adoptions (5 kids)
From my understanding, the only cost's I will have for both adoptions I am in the process of finalizing, will be for new copies of the birth certificates. I didn't have any up front costs as of yet (I am just waiting on a date to finalize my adoptions).
Sorry can't help with the other questions. Right after I was licensed (was planning on waiting to go on to the active list) my niece and nephew came into care. So I haven't taken in any other kiddo's except family so far.
