I ran across this blog which I've been devouring ever since. It is the BEST written, heart wrenching story of a young girl who is now an adult but was a foster child who aged out of the system. Many aspects of the system have changed to help kids who age out since she came through, but she gives such good insight into why many foster children have such bad behaviors. I HIGHLY encourage anyone considering fostering or adoption through foster care to read through this blog. Especially read her "Helpful Tips for Foster Parents and Trainers."

"The Lord compensates the faithful for every loss. That which is taken away from those who love the Lord will be added unto them in His own way. While it may not come at the time we desire, the faithful will know that every tear today will eventually be returned a hundredfold with tears of rejoicing and gratitude..... These experiences, while often difficult to bear at the time, are percisely the kinds of experiences that stretch our understanding, build our character and increase our compassion for others."

Thanks for sharing this! I actually just dropped in here because we're thinking of becoming foster parents...SO much to consider. I'm going to read now.

Kristin,
LT's blog is difficult to read. She has been hurt many times in life. It isn't how the system should work and much has changed about the foster system since she was a child, but much is still the same. Come back and let us know what your thoughts are!!

It's VERY difficult to read...I've been going through it in short chunks, it's just so heartbreaking.
