I'm so looking forward to the day I hear the judge say my son's full name using OUR last name and no longer will I be asked "Is his parent here," at doctor's appointments and such since our last names aren't the same and we don't look the same.
I think the times when I just don't know are the hardest for me. When Lil Buddy's family kept saying they wanted him, didn't want him, wanted him, didn't want him. It went back and forth for ages. So frustrating.
What is the thing you look most forward to (or enjoy the most) about the adoption process overall? I can't wait for the day my little girl and baby boy are legally mine, and have my last name.
What is the thing you dread (or didn't like)? I dreaded going to court for TPR, bio mom was willing to sign a voluntary, but I wasn't sure what bio dad was going to do. Luckily both times we went he ended up signing the voluntary so we didn't have to drag it out (they were going after him for an in voluntary for abandonment and fail to provide support).
What is the thing you look most forward to (or enjoy the most) about the adoption process overall? We are still fairly new to the process but the thing that I am enjoying the most is that I have almost 0 TTC stress. And even though I'm a little sad when I hear friends get pg, after making the decision to adopt, I don't feel the same pain I usually did.
What is the thing you dread (or didn't like)? The things I don't like are the unknown. I'm afraid the most of the e-mom changing her mind in the hospital or an e-father stepping forward to take the baby.
***A HUGE thanks to marriedc for the awesome siggy!***
