It feels like it has taken forever but finalization actually feels like it could happen this time.
What took so long was a bunch of things, but mostly the state/counties losing paperwork and trying to find it, us moving to a different county, having to re-fill out a bunch of stuff, and just waiting for people to get their acts together and get things accomplished.
Katie has been with me since Oct 2006 (she is 6) except for a year when she went back to her bio mom (who is my sister), and Aiden has been with me since he was born 3 years ago. Their TPR's were complete in Oct 2010 and Feb 2011.
We have one last meeting with the adoption worker, my foster care co-ordinator and Indian Child Welfare next week, where we will sign the adoption agreements and then its just petitioning the courts and getting a court date. So we are looking at late Feb/early March since it usually takes a month to get a court date. Its been a long journey to adoption but the end is finally in sight so we can begin our new journey as a whole family. I am so excited and couldn't be more happy!!
