Hi Ladies. I have a question about the home study. We have a porch along the front of our house. We haven't put a banister on it but it is on our to do list. Neither of the ends is over 4ft off the ground but I was wondering if during your homestudies if they looked at things like that? Because if they do then it's going to get moved up on the priority list.

I wish I could answer you but our homestudy hasn't been done yet AND we don't have a porch. Hopefully someone here can answer you.

I think I am just going to tell DH that it's got to be done this summer. Chances are our homestudy won't be done before the end of the summer so I really don't think it will matter too much if it takes us a month or two to get it done. I'm just nervous as to what to expect with the homestudy.

The rules are different state to state, and even county to county, but for what it's worth...In my county, unless the area is kept off-limits to kids, it needs a banister. Seeing as it's your front porch, I would say it would be required to have a banister.
