Hi everyone! I'm new to this board and wanted to introduce myself. I'm Colleen and my husband and I are considering a domestic adoption. We have 2 sons (our oldest will be 3 next month and our youngest is almost 14 months) and we've both always wanted to adopt. That being said I'm a little more on board with it right now than my husband is. The only thing holding him back from filling out an application is the financial side of adoption. Off the bat I have 2 questions (I know as we continue on this journey I'll have many more!) we live in SC and I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for agencies to work with or even those to stay away from? And does anyone have any advice on different grants to apply for or creative ways to raise money to help offset the expenses? Thank you and I look forward to getting to know you guys!

Hi and I'm Elizabeth I have one DD, 3 Step sons and 5 angels. Dh and I decided to do a foster adoption through our state. I can't really help too much with the agencies for you to use but you should be able to search online. I can't really help with grants either as our adoption will be paid for almost 100%. We are going to do a puzzle fundraiser. You sell the pieces for a set amount and when someone buys one you write their name on the back and then once all the pieces are sold you put it together and hang it in the room so that when they get older the child can see the names of all the people that helped bring them home. Yard sales are good too. You can tell your firends and family what you are planning and they may donate items for you to sell. There are others too but I can't think of any right off the top of my head. But I know there are some other ladies on here that can help you too. Good luck on your journey!
