I would have a harder time adopting? I'm sorry if that sounds dumb. I just want to be realistic. Thoughts? Anyone with a large family adopt and have any advice(or want to share your experience)?

i think some countries have a restriction on how many kids you can already have.

I haven't heard of international adoptions limiting the number of children in a home. I know in the sate of MA there is some # but that's for kids that are in the DSS system that are up for adoption. I think they (international) would look at if you have the means to care for another child.

Some countries may have restrictions, but I believe most countries look more at your ability to care for that many children. Things like income, living arrangements, and ages/health of the children will all come into play as to whether or not the social worker will approve you for an adoption.

A friend of mine had 4 and adopted #5 not too long ago (her youngest was 7)

I know you can adopt from Guatemala and Ethiopia. I am not sure about other countries. I knew many people with big families (7+ children) have adopted from Guatemala.

Are you wanting to adopt domestically? I'm not sure of any rules here in the US. China has family size restrictions (I believe 4 children in the home is the limit), BUT they grant waivers for this all the time. As long as you meet the income requirements and have the space in your home, I think it's pretty simple to get a waiver.

As of right now we are open to any idea. Money and space won't be an issue so I hope we are not limited.

Both parents have to be 30 at the time the dossier goes to China. Here is the link to our agency's website, just in case you'd like to take a peek.
