Hi my name is Candy I'm 24 years old and, my fiancé and I have always wanted to adopt a child from the Philippines. I want to start doing my research just so we can collect information for the future. We still have a lot to do in life before we adopt (marriage this summer, having at least one biological child, me finishing school, and traveling). I figure it's never too soon to start collecting information, and start saving (we already know financially adoption is going to be a lot on us)
I was hopping someone could point me in the right direction on where to start looking.
And I also wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experiences on adopting a child from the Philippines
Welcome! I'm doing the same thing you are. I'd like to adopt a couple of older children (domestic) some day, so I just hang out here. I don't have any information for you, but hopefully the others will. I don't "think" we have anyone who's gone through the Philippines for adoption, but we have other foreign countries represented.
Hi Candy and welcome to the group! I'm not at all familiar with adoption from the Phillippines, but I would recommend researching agencies first. Maybe you could search for an online forum for parents who've adopted from there and start your information gathering that way. To me, there's no better way to get good info than from people who have been there, done that. You can probably get recommendations on agencies that way, too. Good luck!!
Thank you ladies for welcoming me. I've been looking online & really can't seem to find much on Philippine adoption, I've found a lot on China & Korea though. The fees are outrageous, I always wanted to adopt internationally but with the fees we may have to adopt domestically. We'll see
